In this post I'm going to focus on why my practice is unique. I was trained as a Classical Five Element Acupuncturist, and there are not too many of us to be found in our city. The majority of practitioners here are trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).
Below are questions from potential patients that will help you decide if my practice is right for you.
Q: Of all the people in your field, what do you have that others do not?
A: As a Classical Five Element practitioner, my strength lies in helping people remember their authentic self, in feeling freer and more in control of their own destinies. This is what we call in Chinese Medicine "treating the Spirit." Spirit, or the Absolute, can never be improved upon because it is already always perfect, but there can be blocks that have accumulated with time - misconceptions, habits, and patterns that do not serve one's highest purpose.
Q: What features of your practice set you apart from others?
A: The primary focus on engendering authenticity, which in turn, fosters a healthy body and mind, sets me apart from many other Acupuncturists in the field. While I of course treat symptoms, resolving them is not the isolated goal of treatment. If I can help someone to remember who they are at the core, symptoms either become much more manageable or the body is better able to fully heal naturally.
Q: Why should I work with you as opposed to someone else?

If you are someone interested in growing, evolving, and creating wellness in your life, my treatments are for you. There does not necessarily have to be anything "wrong" to come in for treatment. These treatments will also help maintain health or work as preventive medicine.
I've also worked with people with serious health conditions who've benefited greatly. I believe that this is because of the unique nature of my practice - to help each person feel empowered and at home in their selves.
Staying Healthy Through Seasonal Changes
The Five Elements correspond to the Five Seasons in Chinese Medicine. (The fifth is late summer.) This means that Five Element can really help to attune your body to the season, or adjust to the changing of seasons. This can make the difference of coming down with a cold when the seasons start to shift or sailing through without any illness even if you're surrounded by others who are sick.
Energetic Resonance with Each Season
FIve Element is also a great way to help your body attune to the energetic movement of each season. What is the energetic movement of each season? Some examples are: growth and creativity in the Spring, warmth and heart-connection in the Summer, nurturance of one's self and others in the Late Summer, inspiration and introspection in the fall, and restoration and inner stillness in the Winter.
