Lesson of the day: Winds and storms only make our roots grow stronger.
You hear a lot in Chinese Medicine (CM) that it is important to protect yourself from the wind. I'll often tell my patients to wear a scarf during seasonal changes when winds kick up. Wind in CM is an errant climatic factor that opens us up to fevers, chills, and illnesses.
This week has been super windy. Several clients have come in with head colds.
Wind in a larger sense can also me a metaphor for not always welcome events and circumstances that come out of the blue and somehow manage to shake everything up, as the winds tend to do. Wind can be a little mischievous. But errant forces in our lives are always a call to transform.
How do you respond to the wind? How do you choose to grow?
My affirmation for today and the windy days to come: winds & storms can only strengthen my roots, and deepen my faith.
