Acupuncture, Health, Wellness, and Chinese Medicine Resource
Do you ever notice that the fall inspires you to de-clutter and simplify? In the cycle of the Five Elements, fall belongs to the Metal element, which resonates with the lungs and colon. The lungs connect us to what is most essential and precious, the breath, which inspires each moment. The colon allows us to let go of what we don't need, and hold onto what can still be of use.
When the lungs are out of balance, you may experience anxiety, a sense of feeling harried or "not being in the moment." Shallow breathing, and symptoms such as asthma relate to the functioning of the lung qi. Colon qi imbalances show up physically quite clearly as constipation, and mentally as stubborn, and often overly-critical thinking.
The fall is my favorite season. It is time when everything is clarified, and there is a high note air. It is also a time of enjoying the abundant harvest of the late summer, even as we begin to look inward and the outer light wanes.
It is also a perfect time to start a new regime, to commit to what you know is healthful, and a perfect time to start, or begin again. Remember the lungs relate to inspiration and regular rhythm, so any wellness routines you have been thinking about - now is the time. The Present Sage will be offering $10. off the purchase of three treatments to get you started. Please contact me at (215) 680-2362, or firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule.
Wishing you inspiration, clarity, and light this Fall!
