Spring Acupuncture Points

by in Acupuncture March 27, 2012

Element: Wood
Liver-1: Great Esteem
Spring time is associated with the Liver meridian which relates to Vision, Clarity, and Expression.  The first point on the Liver Meridian, located on the foot, is like the root of a tree, providing grounding and stability for the outward growth and manifestation of one’s true nature.  It’s name alludes to the confidence and motivation that spring time plants contain as they push through the winter ground to sprout and bloom.

Physically, Great Esteem provides “a good surge of energy”  Metaphorically, it “shakes off the dead leaves and prunes dead branches,” allowing for growth and change where there was previously stagnation or frustration.  Great Esteem allows for infinite possibility and expression!
